Last fall Jimmy was studying for Level 1 of the CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst).... you know the guys who run hedge funds and who are CFO's of companies. Ok, well this is what Jimmy is getting yet another certification to do. Currently he is a CFP (Certified Financial Planner) and is a VP at Fidelity working with their Private Client group as a financial planner to high net worth clients. However, he wants to transition to the analyst role which is another big step for his career and something he has wanted to do for a long time but never got started on the tests. So after much prompting from me, he took the first of three tests in the fall and despite the 34% pass rate he still passed easily.
Now, here's the deal, tonight he began studying for test #2. These tests are only given once a year and the next one is June 5. It was so hard to start this process over again tonight and not be sitting here right now hanging out but instead him be in the study nose in the books and me in bed on the laptop writing this blog. BUT, at the same time I am so thrilled to see my precious husband do something he put off for years and felt he like maybe it was just too late to start. When you love someone you make sacrifices to see them succeed and be their best. This is the moment in time where it is hard to make the sacrifice but so very worth seeing him accomplish a goal!
I'm incredibly proud of Jimmy but I will be glad when this is all over!! =)
