Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Seven years..

Our sweet Serene turned SEVEN today. This doesn't seem possible but it's true. Joy and laughter and happiness is always what this girl bring us and we are just so proud of who she is. Love this girl to pieces!!

Jimmy always tells the kids they have to submit paperwork to change ages... So this crazy girl wrote a checklist of why she should get to be seven... Here are a few...

1. I have pretty hair
2. I've been six for a year
3. I'd make a great seven year old

Guess she's moving forward with those great reasons!!

Anna's birthday

Our precious girl turned 10 back on the 9th. It's so amazing to think she is TEN... A decade we've had this incredible girl in our lives. I love her so much and I'm so proud of the young lady she's becoming.

We took her to get her ears pierced for her birthday and she was thrilled. We found a great little piercing shop in Univeristy Park and she was so brave!! She looks beautiful... But too grown up. :(

An exciting little side note for her birthday this year was her little cousin Jed being born. So fun, cousins sharing a birthday... Ten years apart.

Big girl

Anna went into the store and bought milk for us the other day... While I sat in the car. This is a big deal for her if you know how shy she is. I was so proud of her. She's shy but brave!! My girl is growing up!

Holiday "collection"

Ben loves collections... Collections of any kind. So on this day he did several holiday crafts and made a collection of them, taped them to the school room wall and then asked me to take his picture. Oh my word how much I love this little boy. He's amazing! I adore him!

American Girl

Last month we went to Dallas and met some friends at the American Girl Doll store and had tea together! It was so much fun and something I hope we do again soon!

Christmas tree spotting

I had this idea to go to all the local cities nearby and see their city hall Christmas trees since Ben is such a fan of Christmas trees. So we set out and located four of them. We also stopped at a bakery along the way and enjoyed some delicious treats. We had such a fun day and I think the kids want to try it again next year!!

Search for baby Jesus

Our church did an interactive event where you searched for baby Jesus as if you were on the journey to Bethleham much like Joseph and Mary. It was wonderful and the kids just loved it! So good to be reminded why we really celebrate.

Limo and lights

Jimmy surprised the whole family and rented a limo to go look at lights. We started out at Dunkin for donuts and then headed to Dallas! It was such a great night!!

The least of these

I'm up again late into the night with a sick baby. They've all taken their turn at this thing and it's finally just a little cough left with Eva. It's been a long two weeks and as we are all getting well I'm so grateful and yet as I sit here watching my tiniest one making sure she can sleep peacefully despite her leftover cough, I'm overwhelmed at what a job I have. Long nights, long days, little rest, BUT what a privilege to give my life to such a cause. The Bible says "if you've done it to one of the least of these, you've done it unto me"..., that means as I stay up late at night and hold a little one comforting their  cries or just loving on them, I'm doing it to God. He sees children as that important. They are precious in His kingdom. My work here is not in vain, it's the work of God, it's the work of the saints who've gone before. It's the only work that really counts in the end. It's a privileged and amazing task.
