Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Baby girls

Yesterday I had to give the little girls a mid day bath due to them deciding to cover themselves head to toe in marker. Haha!! Anyway, during the bath Patience told Eva that they were going to dress up as ballerinas after the bath and do a ballet show. This alone melts my heart as I just love children and their precious ideas. Much less a sweet little 3 year old girl wanting to do a dancing show for her family. Just too sweet.

So after the bath Patience dressed she and Eva and took them upstairs to get ready for the show. Finally after a little while we were all called up there and it was show time.

Patience wanted all the lights out and I used my phone as not only a spot light but for music. The song she chose, her birthday video song, You Are My Sunshine. So for the next 3 minutes my baby girls danced and twirled around the room to a song whose words could not better describe my feelings towards all my kids....

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy, when skies are grey

I had one of those out of body experiences in that moment... Looking down on the room at all of us and thinking soak this moment in, soak every second of it in... They will grow up so fast. So, I did. I watched and clapped and sang and adored and cried and cheered. I would freeze them at this age if I could. Carefree and feeling like the whole world is about doing a "ballet show" in your tutu with your sister and your whole family cheering you on.

I can't say enough how much I love my life and how privileged I feel to live it.

Happy Birthday to my first son

This little guy is such a blessing to our lives. He has such a sweet tender heart and cares so much for others. He is a deep thinker and is never worried what others think. He carries a brief case, has an office in his closet, loves to do projects (cutting and glueing and creating things with paper), and loves music. I adore this boy. His heart, his love for his family and his joy and zeal for life. We love you Benjamin James. May you be blessed in new and wonderful ways this year!

So many firsts, so many lasts

Our sweet Eva started walking last night. It's been a very gradual process for her. Over the last month she's been slowly taking steps her and there but last night she finally took about ten steps in a row and I noticed during the day her walking dominated her crawling... I think all that makes it official.

It's very weird watching your last child have all her amazing and special firsts... Her firsts are our lasts. We know Eva is our little caboose and I'm sooo good with that and have such closure with that but it doesn't mean it's not a bit surreal thinking this is the last baby we will celebrate all these special moments with.

So far the biggest to me have been rolling over, clapping, crawling, first words (mama and Gagi..Daddy), first steps, first time to lay her head on my shoulder and pat me, and the first time she went up to her sister Patience and comforted her with big pats (possibly hits) when she was crying.

Her firsts, our lasts. It's a good thing. Life moves on and it's time to move out of the baby phase for the first time in almost eight consecutive years.

We love our sweet sixth little blessing Eva!! So much joy!!

This is her camera face. If she even sees you getting the camera out she smiles this sweet grin!!! I adore her!!!!

Christmas 2014

This Christmas season was so special... As always. We REALLY love Christmas in our house and try and soak up every second with each other. We celebrate until January 1 so we are making sure every last favorite movie has been watched, every light in the area has been seen and every fun food eaten... It's the most wonderful time of the year!!
