Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Seven years..

Our sweet Serene turned SEVEN today. This doesn't seem possible but it's true. Joy and laughter and happiness is always what this girl bring us and we are just so proud of who she is. Love this girl to pieces!!

Jimmy always tells the kids they have to submit paperwork to change ages... So this crazy girl wrote a checklist of why she should get to be seven... Here are a few...

1. I have pretty hair
2. I've been six for a year
3. I'd make a great seven year old

Guess she's moving forward with those great reasons!!

Anna's birthday

Our precious girl turned 10 back on the 9th. It's so amazing to think she is TEN... A decade we've had this incredible girl in our lives. I love her so much and I'm so proud of the young lady she's becoming.

We took her to get her ears pierced for her birthday and she was thrilled. We found a great little piercing shop in Univeristy Park and she was so brave!! She looks beautiful... But too grown up. :(

An exciting little side note for her birthday this year was her little cousin Jed being born. So fun, cousins sharing a birthday... Ten years apart.

Big girl

Anna went into the store and bought milk for us the other day... While I sat in the car. This is a big deal for her if you know how shy she is. I was so proud of her. She's shy but brave!! My girl is growing up!

Holiday "collection"

Ben loves collections... Collections of any kind. So on this day he did several holiday crafts and made a collection of them, taped them to the school room wall and then asked me to take his picture. Oh my word how much I love this little boy. He's amazing! I adore him!

American Girl

Last month we went to Dallas and met some friends at the American Girl Doll store and had tea together! It was so much fun and something I hope we do again soon!

Christmas tree spotting

I had this idea to go to all the local cities nearby and see their city hall Christmas trees since Ben is such a fan of Christmas trees. So we set out and located four of them. We also stopped at a bakery along the way and enjoyed some delicious treats. We had such a fun day and I think the kids want to try it again next year!!

Search for baby Jesus

Our church did an interactive event where you searched for baby Jesus as if you were on the journey to Bethleham much like Joseph and Mary. It was wonderful and the kids just loved it! So good to be reminded why we really celebrate.

Limo and lights

Jimmy surprised the whole family and rented a limo to go look at lights. We started out at Dunkin for donuts and then headed to Dallas! It was such a great night!!

The least of these

I'm up again late into the night with a sick baby. They've all taken their turn at this thing and it's finally just a little cough left with Eva. It's been a long two weeks and as we are all getting well I'm so grateful and yet as I sit here watching my tiniest one making sure she can sleep peacefully despite her leftover cough, I'm overwhelmed at what a job I have. Long nights, long days, little rest, BUT what a privilege to give my life to such a cause. The Bible says "if you've done it to one of the least of these, you've done it unto me"..., that means as I stay up late at night and hold a little one comforting their  cries or just loving on them, I'm doing it to God. He sees children as that important. They are precious in His kingdom. My work here is not in vain, it's the work of God, it's the work of the saints who've gone before. It's the only work that really counts in the end. It's a privileged and amazing task.

Holiday weekend

We ended our holiday weekend with a trip to the Colleyville Nature Center. We've never been here and we are wondering why... This place is amazing. 46 acres, 3 gorgeous ponds... Wonderful!!! Coming back for sure!

Shaving cream

Do you see the progression? Hahaha! They told me it was "the best day of our lives"!!!! Score one for mom!!

Corn maze

We had our annual visit to our local pumpkin patch where they have the coolest corn maze. It's different every year and it is so fun. We go after dark and use flashlights and have one of our most favorite times of the year! We've been going for 4 years now! Love this time of year, happy fall!!

Sharpie tees

Making sharpie tees!

Sometime there are just moments in life when you step back and realize that if it's weren't for God some things would never happen. These pictures are the direct result of prayers being answered. To see these sweet cousins together is an incredible blessing to not only my heart but especially to my parents heart! A happy day indeed.

Five months

Somehow this sweet girl got to be FIVE months but if only feels like about two tops. She is such a precious bright smile in our lives. Our incredible Eva Faith!

Pond fun

Our pond is so low the drainage system is dried out. This is now an amazing fun place to play... At least until the water comes back up, if it ever does.

Eva

I have been truly amazed at how little Eva has perfectly fit into the fabric of our home. Sometimes I forget I just had a baby because there is no lack of sleep. She is a great sleeper and has been since day one. It's such a huge blessing considering the unexpected CSection and major recovery that comes with that. I'm certain I've healed quicker because of the rest I'm getting. Nothing improves my health and moos better than good rest! I've so had absolutely no post partum depression this time at all. Sooo grateful for that.

Eva is amazing and is growing fast! She smiles the biggest smiles and loves to hear the voices of her family. We are all so in love with her. I've been so grateful at how well Patience has responded to her. Patience adores her and does everything she can to take care of her. I'll never forget the afternoon Eva was born and the other five came to see her at the hospital and the moment Patienve saw Eva she gasped a huge thrilled gasp and said "mommy a baby".... And that was it, she was smitten! Such a precious memory for me!!

Two big sisters
Two brothers
Two little sisters

Love it!!
