Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Rivers walking

I captured this video last week of Rivers first steps BUT, due to my extreme lack of tech knowledge I am just now getting it on here.... maybe... if it works...

AND... it is sideways... OH WELL! I tried!

Ben and baseball

Ben's name mean "son of my right hand" and it couldn't be any more accurate. He wants to be with Jimmy every second and he is just like Jimmy in so many ways. One of the main ways being his love of sports. When Ben was just 7 or 8 months old he would scream with excitement to watch Jimmy toss around a football or hit a golf ball. He gets so excited when there are sports on TV and LOVES playing ball with Jimmy whenever he possibly can.

We took Ben to see his cousin Jakes little league game a few weeks ago and he really had a great time. He spent most of the game trying to get a ball or bat out of the dugout!

Here are a few pictures that capture him at the game! I love the ones of daddy and son watching the game together!

Good news and bad news

The other day, mom and I are sitting at the kitchen table having lunch with the kiddos and Serene says "I have good news and I have bad news"... "good News, Nana has a good swing set. Bad news, we don't."

Mom and I thought that was too cute! I was a bit disappointed to know that she apparently doesn't like our swing set.... At least not compared to Nana and Pop's! :)

First steps.... cont.

So as soon as I posted that Rivers had taken his first step he promptly took FIVE steps in a row for Daddy when he walked in the door from work. Then, when we walked in the closet we put him down and he took five more steps!

Go Rivs!!

Less than a month

It is so hard to believe but our oldest boy will be TWO in less than a month... How did this happen. It seems like only yesterday we were taking him on his first plane trip to my brothers wedding at four weeks old. Now he is a i100% little boy... Babyhood is nearly gone. On Sunday night I did have the privilege of holding and snuggling him, a rare treat with this busy little man!

This picture is of a worm he caught the other night after one of the rain storms. He was so proud! Hard to believe my once tiny baby is a bug catching, sports loving, all things outdoors little mini man! Time has gone far too quickly. A reminder to me to take advantage of every minute as they do pass like seconds in the grand scheme of things.

The best salad ever

Jimmy made us dinner tonight and in his usual fashion it was superb! It could have been served in any fine steakhouse.

Grilled filet mignon, oven finished, with a blue cheese wedge salad served with blue cheese crumbles and freshly grilled bacon bits!!

He is such a stinkin good cook!!

Marrying Ben

Anna told us at dinner last night that she really wants to marry Ben when she gets older. She is so sweet and sincere when she says it, we don't have the heart to tell her that we would need to move to Arkansas in order for that to happen. ;)

Rainy day

It was a long rainy day but finally in the evening it subsided and we were able to go out. Jimmy and I enjoyed the cooler temps and the children enjoyed the puddles! After everyone was thoroughly soaked and freezing we finally talked them inside with promises of movie night! I love an impromptu evening of puddles and movies!!!

My new trick

It looks like Jimmy is helping him stand but he isn't. He has been standing by himself more and more. He stood for 10 seconds the other day!! Yay Rivs!!

Anna presented Jimmy and I with this card for our anniversary this coming Saturday... It had 14¢ in it. This has to be one of the sweetest gifts I have ever received.

Tomatoes and pocaduls

There are a few sweet things Serene is saying right now that I must make note of in order to always remember these things even when she is a grown lady!

First off popsicles are "pocaduls"..... This is one we just love hearing her say!

Tonight as a huge storm was rolling in she and Daddy turned on the weather to make sure no tornadoes were coming our way, she ran in to the bedroom to tell me with a big smile "there's no tomatoes mommy, no tomatoes yay!!"

Lastly, another favorite of ours "I ga no".... "Serene, How much is 100 + 100?" Serene: "I ga no" ....

Oh my gosh she is sooo stinkin cute!!!
