Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Love this pic..

Jimmy took this pic of Anna last night... she was tired after a long evening of playing and got up on the couch in her playroom next to her favorite doll Angelina Ballerina... I had to put it in black and white cause it looks even prettier. She is such a precious little girl!

Anna playing dolls

Last night when our friends were over Anna observed Hilary changing baby Joel on the floor on a little blanket. So, after they left Anna got her baby doll, a small blanket and some of her extra baby doll clothes and spent at least an hour changing and rechanging her baby doll. It was precious and she was talking to her doll the whole time, telling her she was sweet and precious and that it was time for night night. It was really fun to watch her be such a sweet little care taker! I know she is going to be a wonderful big sister!

Most of these pics are just fun ones Jimmy and I took while we were playing in her playroom with her after our guests had gone home.

Friday night dinner with friends

Friday night we had a great evening with friends. Our friends Hilary and John came over and brought their new baby boy Joel who is 3 months old and just precious! He is the sweetest little thing, very quiet and full of smiles! (makes me even more excited for Serene to get here) We also hosted our friend Joan and her son Myles. It took Myles and Anna about 30 minuutes but once they warmed up they were buddies all evening long. Myles is 5.5 and Anna is 2.5 but the age difference didn't matter. They played great together. They played in the backyard, they played in the playroom, they played on the computer, etc. Content, quiet children made quite the pleasant evening for all of us! =)

I have lots of pics of Anna and Myles but it was not until they were gone that I realized I didn't get any of just Joel.... UGH! Anyway, I do have one of he and his mom and dad at least! Oh and also. the pic we took of everyone at the table came out with a big glare across it, so basically all the pics are of Myles and Anna! =) It was not my best picture taking moment!! =)

Baby name

For those of you who we haven't already told I wanted to mention that our newest addition will be named Isabella Serene. We plan on calling her Serene. Anna was named after her two grandmothers so this time instead of going with family names we chose the names solely based on meaning. Isabella means 'my vow is to God, or I am consecrated to God', Serene means 'peaceful, unaffected by disturbance; calm'... sounds good for a baby huh??!! =) 18 or so more weeks to go!! Can't wait!

Sunday afternoon fun

Anna's new favorite thing to do is to wash Jimmy's car... which usually means just spraying it down over and over with the super fun water hose nozzle! Not much actual cleaning is involved BUT it is never ending fun for a 2 1/2 year old! =) She also loves to use the backyard water hose to water the flowers, the swingset and even mommy! =) I got soaked last night with camera in hand so I am rather shocked I have pictures to download today! I was sure the camera was shot. Anyway, Anna had a blast and that's what counts on a hot summer Sunday afternoon!! =)

Friday night

Friday night we spent the evening with Jimmy's family. His cousin Keeton was in from out of town so we all went to Risky's BBQ in downtown to eat. This is one of Jimmy's favorite spots to go because he and his dad used to go there together very often before his dad died in 2003. It has good memories for him and the Texas fries aren't too bad either! =)

Book fair fun

Today we went to the annual book fair up at Jimmy's work. They always put on quite an event! This year there was face painting, a make your own cookie station, story time, crafts, tons of yummy food and drinks and of course the best part each child gets to pick out 3 free books. They had tons to chose from so it was hard but Anna narrowed it down to 3 instead of all the ones on the book table like she really wanted!! =)

Here are pics of Anna making cookies, eating her fruit and getting her hand painted. She thought it would be more fun to get her hand done than her face! =)

Family summer tradition....the fair

It's tradition in the Zimmerman family to go to the Keller Fair together every year. They have been going for 20+ years. Although I would never personally recommend the fair, due to exorbatent prices for mediocre rides and food, creepy, unfriendly carnival workers and the hottest temperatures of the year. However, because I love to carry on most any family tradition within reason, we go every year. This was Anna's first year to actually ride a few rides herself and she had the best time! Here are a few pics of this years event!

Baby news...

We found out today that Anna is going to have a LITTLE SISTER!! We are thrilled and can't believe we are going to have two little girls! How much fun! We already have sooo many pink things to shower her in....it's going to be a blast! In fact I think I am going to spend the evening looking through all of Anna's old clothes and really letting this sink in!

Library

Anna had her first visit to the library on Thursday. We went to the library at First Baptist Church Euless where I used to get books when I was a little girl. She was very excited to go to the same place mommy used to go! We had a fun visit and got to go upstairs and see Pop before we headed to the library.

We checked out 3 books, one called Kindness, the other Caring and the last one Love. We are working on having these qualities in our lives... and I do mean OUR LIVES.... not just Anna but Jimmy and I too! =)

These pics are of Anna right as we were leaving. She got to wear her new backpack with her initials on it to put her books in!
