Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Big hair day

Anyone ever been to the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo?? Then you get my title... Well I guess I could also add ten gallon hat to that title as well. :) Gotta love Texas!!

We took the children today and enjoyed looking at animals, watching people and smelling the lovely scents of farm life! Our 6th annual trip and not our last.

Christmas 2010

Obviously WAY behind here. These days I do all my blogging from my phone where I take most of my pics and just download them directly to the blog. However, I took these pics on the fabulous new camera Jimmy got me for Christmas so I actually had to download these to the Mac upstairs in the school room... took me a while to do that. =)

Highlights, all four children opening stockings, Anna and Ben playing the piano at my parents house, the silly string fight in my parents yard (thanks daddy for surprising us with that in our stockings) and of course the afternoon nap on daddy's lap in the big chair at pop and nana's house! It was a great Christmas!

Lessons from the oatmeal bowl

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

What can you learn from a bowl of oatmeal.... much less a half eaten dirty bowl?

Have you ever finished your oatmeal and just threw the dish in the sink to clean later? Of course when you return to clean it, what was a wet and easily cleanable substance is now stuck on your bowl like cement. It takes twice as long to clean it. So it goes with children, if we deal with little things like certain behaviors or bad habits quickly they are easily changed and the process is not hard on anyone. However, if you leave them unchecked you will go to "clean" them one day and realize you have unpleasant behaviors and bad habits stuck on like super glue. Getting that clean "bowl" will be long and difficult.

Just something to think about...

Exhausted

All the little people in our house have been sick this week and it has made for some seriously long nights and exhausting days.... BUT, it does seem that we are on the mend!

Thank goodness for this essential oil diffuser that we have been using to diffuse Thieves oil throughout the house to help kill germs in the air and open up our sinuses.... It has helped so much and makes the air smell yummolish! (yeah that's not a word)

Six months old

Wow, time has passed quicker than ever these six months. My baby boy is growing like a weed. This child is the happiest baby EVER. He smiles about 99% of the time and only cries if he is hungry or letting us know he is tired.

Here are a few facts about #4:

He loves watching his siblings play but esp. Loves watching his big brother. He just stares in fascination at every move Ben makes.

He is scooting across the floor really well and will put anything in his mouth he finds along the way.

He laughs hysterically when his brother and sisters jump up and down or bounce a ball.

He adores his Daddy.

He has amazing dimples that make everyone weak in the knees.

He has the darkest eyes and skin of anyone in the family.... He cleary inherited this from my maternal grandfather and paternal grandmother.

He is another one of our hybrid sleepers. He naps in his bed alone but we cosleep with him at night. The perfect blend!!

He has a smile for everyone he meets... Literally everyone.

What an amazing surprise this little guy was. Our life is forever blessed by this boy of ours. Love you Rivers Joseph!!
