Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Pears from the knoll

Ever since we moved here we have found all kinds of yummy things to eat on the land or around it. Today our neighbor came over to offer us all the pears we wanted off his trees!! Jimmy and Anna went over and had a little picking session and came back with these. I plan to make a cobbler with them from the basic cobbler recipe my grandma Colleen gave me. Yummy!!

So far on the land or around it we have found:
wild grapes (made yummy grape jelly with those)
peaches
plums
wild blackberries
figs
pears

I love it here!!

Screen door

Published with Blogger-droid v1.5.9

A few weekends ago Jimmy and his Uncle Ken put up this screen door for me on our back door. It allows me to watch and listen to the children playing on the back porch without having any and all flying insects join me while I play in the kitchen. I love it! It is so much fun hearing the children play (ok and occasionally fight.... which is not fun to listen to but ANYWAY). I still can't get used to this massive expanse that is our backyard and how much our children are enjoying it. Now if only the weather would get nice... oh how I long for the weather to get nice! PLEASE I'm begging! =)

Soaking up some vitamin D

Sick children = need for sunshine

Note from my man

I got this note from Jimmy this past week and I thought I would post it here...
So encouraging! I love him!

Sweetheart,

I know how hard your days often are pouring everything you have into four little ones who don't understand yet how much you are sacrificing for them. I just want you to know that I know and more importantly, God knows. I have never witnessed such constant selflessness and high character in my life. You are just as great as the greatest missionary! Just remember that the Lord has already promised you that he knows your efforts and sees all of the many sacrifices you make big and small each and every day for our family. The fruits of your efforts are difficult to see now but will manifest themselves for years into the future, long after we are gone. When ASBR+ are grown, they will be a testimony of the good work and tireless efforts you are investing in them now. They will truly be the heritage for us that God promises they will be becuase of your faithfulness and they will be greater than any other type of riches he could bless us with! I love you Sweetheart !

God always knows

I have this recurring back issue that I never know when it is going to crop up.... well it did today.. UGH! Anyway so I'm sitting here today feeling a little defeated.... house work is not done, the children have had their meals on the floor (can't lift anyone into a highchair), my back is HURTING (I've been through child birth with no pain meds... I'm no wimp)it really is HURTING...

Then as God always does, He came through in a big way... I got a text from a good friend in my Connection class at church saying they had made us dinner and wanted to bring it by in 30 minutes. WOW!! She knew that Rivers has been sick and wanted to help out but had no idea that my back had me totally useless today... but God did!!

Thank you Lord.. you always provide!

School days

Today marked one official week of homeschooling and I could not be more happy at how things are going! We are enjoying a little more structure than the summer and just loving learning together. Anna is such a bright, intense, hard working little girl. I love watching her face light up as she reads big paragraphs or paints a picture I love...it is just pure joy! I love my job!
