Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Dreaming of a....

Well a baby mostly but last night it was a White Christmas! We took the girls to the private school I graduated from for their performance of the Broadway version of White Christmas! It was so wonderful. They had some amazingly talented students and the full orchestra added to the professional flare!! We all loved it! The girls have been singing "Sisters Sisters" all day! So much fun!

Blog roll deletions

I have deleted a few blogs from my blogs I follow section.. First off, a couple of them were blogs that people hadn't updated in at least a year, secondly, some of them were just boring and last but not least, I just began to realize my own beliefs were far off from what some of these blog writers were "preaching"! While I value other opinions and think there is always much to be learned from hearing out the "other side", I also know that there are just some times when I can't allow other people and what is simply their opinion to get me all worked up! :) I am a very passionate person about lots of things in life but especially about mothering... I feel it is a very personal and holy experience that can't be summed up in a how to book... It is intuitive and instinctive. Those who insist on devaluing motherhood to 200 pages in a book are missing the vastness of the sacred calling. I can't put a blog on my blog roll that attempts to define infancy and childhood as a simple follow this 3 step plan and it will all be a cake walk.

Motherhood is the journey out of a selfishness and is not a corporation to be run with grown up players involved. Tiny little lives with fragile hearts and minds and souls are at stake. I am not concerned that a 1 month old might manipulate me or that I might not get all the rest I need for a few months.... I signed up for motherhood, not a babysitting job! My priority is not making sure I have the ever popular "me time".... I gave that up 7 years ago when I held my baby girl for the first time. I gave up me and embraced "us" (my family of 3). There is no joy as deep as letting go of my own selfish desires and embracing the joy of gIving and loving these precious lives!

Do I believe I should never have a moment away or never take time to do the things mommy needs?? Nonsense. But spending your life always trying to make sure you get what you want or what you deserve or what is best for you first and fitting your kid into your schedule is fruitless and worthless and wasted investment of your own energy and time. Let it go... Embrace the days of babyhood and long nights and late night feedings... It all ends so quickly and they get big fast and those days are gone...

Manipulated ?? By who? A baby or society?....

Lego tower

Ben was the first one up today so he and I played Legos for a bit before the others got up. He was so proud of this tower and wanted me to take his picture! Love this little guy so much!

Random sleep photos

When my children were babies I was obsessed with taking pictures of them sleeping .. It seems that hasn't changed. :) Here is one of Ben... While watching an afternoon show he just couldn't stay awake, even while standing! :)

Then, I adore this photo. Most days I pile all the kiddos in our bed and we read our library books or watch a boring show (to induce sleep). On this day Anna wanted Ben to get to sleep fast so we (the three girls) could do our usual routine of getting up and going in the living room to play board games or start dinner or read more library books. I think this day it was a book day BUT as she was trying to comfort him to sleep she and Serene both dosed off as well. I spent the next two hours in front of my new MAC with hot tea and pinterest.... Yep, just being lazy!!!! :)

Sweet and sassy

Let's hope for all our sakes our girls are sweet only and leave the sassy to someone else... :) But for beauty day Sweet and Sassy little girls beauty shop (salon) was a ton of fun for our little gals. They needed haircuts and Jimmy suggested we let them try this. They had a super good time together and got some pretty neat 'dos' as well!!!!

My aunt Toni stayed with us for a week and was able to go to the salon which was so special for the girls (and us)! That night all the ladies gave ourselves manicures as well.... An all around day of beauty!!

My aunt made the super adorable purse Anna is holding in one of her "after" shots!
