Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Make room for baby

This weekend has been designated as nursery weekend. We plan on doing whatever it takes to get some blue in this house by the end of the weekend! =) As of this morning, the former girls bedroom is now blue, the girls have a new room in their former playroom and other smaller projects are in process.

My favorite accessory so far for the new nursery are the amazing blankets my grandmother crocheted for his room. We already have quite a fabulous collection of these blankets as I have two gorgeous ones from my childhood and then the girls each have two. However, of all the blankets so far the ones for Ben are my most loved yet! I love the color and one of them has white stripes that are a really nice touch!

All of these blankets represent someone taking time to lovingly spend hours making something by hand for our children. Not only that but my grandmothers work is superb... each line is without flaw! I love knowing these blankets will be in our family for years and that my children can pass them down to their children with the story of their great-great grandmother who had this amazing skill.

(I am posting a few pictures I tried to take of the edges of the blankets so you could see detail but in reality none of these pictures come close to doing the blankets justice.)

Pics of the nursery and new girls room to follow!! =)

Wow, you are ahead of me. I have a painting party scheduled for week after next with a friend who offered to help so that is definitely motivation for me to buy the paint, etc. The fabric for the bedding is bought but just needs to be dropped off at the seamstress's house. The dresser needs to be ordered and the room put together, but gosh where has the time gone. Only 48 more days!! Are you going to have a scheduled C-section? If so, will your doctor do it say like a week or so before your actual due date? I thought if he did, then that would be an extra week or so for you to recover before you go to Florida...assuming you are still going. Also, I am excited about using the AIO's this time around altough I will use newborn disposables for a while because they are easier when they are pooping so much and because he will probably be small like Libby was and wouldn't fit well anyway. Hey, is someone giving you a shower??? I hope so...you will definitley need cute boy stuff. I love those blankets!! So special to have those from grandma.

I am still not sure about the scheduled CS. We are still needing to discuss it with the doctor... we'll see. Pray for that if you think of it.

We realized that the next 4 weekends are packed with one thing or another so we decided it was this weekend or wait until June to do the baby's room.. no way was I waiting til June! =) We have had fun getting it ready and I hope to post pics soon but it may still be a few more days!

Haven't checked Target yet but I am hoping to in the next few days. Let me know if you go and what you find out. I will do the same if I go first.

I can't believe we are going to have our little guys here so soon! I am so excited to meet him and see his face for the first time. Jimmy told me yesterday that he is the most excited to see what he looks like since both our girls like little mini versions of me... =)

Hope you guys had a great weekend!

Enjoy each day between now and the new baby...it flies and suddenly you are sharing mommy time with 2! It is wonderful but don't forget to relax and take in these last few days with just you and Libby at home during the day...they are so precious! =) Ok, I am preaching to myself too since my mommy time is about to be cut into thirds! =)
