Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Two girls, one hat

Serene moments

Jimmy came around the corner with Serene on the hotwheel on Saturday afternoon and Anna and I both cracked up. Serene laughed and laughed. She thought she was pretty grown up!

The picture of Serene in front of the dishwasher was this afternoon. I was fixing dinner and heard her start laughing. I looked down and she could see her reflection and was trying to touch the baby in the dishwasher. That entertained her for about 10 minutes. It was so adorable!

Blue icing, white sugar - SCANDAL!

Ok, anyone who has been around us much at all knows that Anna eats tons of fresh fruits and vegetables and always has. It's all she has known so she doesn't know the difference. Of course we let her eat most anything but we do limit things that don't contribute to health and we encourage those things that are good for a growing body.

So in my attempt to encourage healthy foods I told her one day that things like raw vegetables and fruit make you beautiful and things like white sugar make you ugly. Ok, I had no idea the affect that would have but she literally became obsessed asking us about every item on her plate and every thing on EVERY grocery shelf. BUT, here's the catch in order not to spoil the fun of childhood and because she had gotten to where if you told her something did have white sugar in it she would REFUSE to eat it, we just sort of left out the fact that things like birthday cake, cupcakes, and chocolate chip cookies do have the scandalous white sugar in them. I mean COME ON a girls gotta have some fun!

So last night after a super fun day of throwing rocks in the pond, playing on the playground, shopping for fall shoes and going to Central Market for dinner with some of our best friends we ended the night with an extra yummy Central Market Cookie Monster cupcake (he even had a giant Oreo in his mouth). She LOVED it!

The headlines read: "Outspoken anti-sugar activist caught DEVOURING cupcake"

I have the proof: See attached picture of smiling blue face!!

Emma and Anna

We had a great play time with Emma and her mommy last week!

This past weekend

A quick overview of this past weekend... Friday night was a relaxing dinner on the patio at Central Market. Anna loves to go there because of the playground. Jimmy and I love it because of the food and Serene just loves anyplace that mommy is at.

Saturday morning I had brunch with my friend Lauren from high school who was in town from Houston. She is 20+ weeks pregnant and has the cutest tiny little baby belly ever! This is their first baby! YAY for babies!!

Saturday afternoon was spent at a birthday party at Going Bonkers in Lewisville.... OK, the name says it all. It was BONKERS! =) It is this HUGE indoor play structure that is actually pretty neat on a 100+ degree day in Texas. Much better than attempting to play outside and get heat stroke. (see picture of play structure... if you look closely you can see Anna and Jimmy)

Sunday morning Jimmy made us Kirby Lane Apple Wheat Pancakes. Kirby Lane is this breakfast place Jimmy liked in Austin back in his UT days. They sell their mixes in the restaurants and now they sell them at Central Market too... which is where we got ours.

We rounded off the weekend on Sunday at my parents house swimming. We made pizzas and the guys watched the PGA championship. (see picture of Serene at mom and dads house in her swimsuit she inherited from Reese Holsinger)

Charlie and Anna

Our dear friends Tom and Mary and their little boy Charlie met us for dinner Saturday night. Charlie and Anna had a blast on the playground after dinner!

Summer festival

There is a church that meets at the school across the street from our house and they put on a big festival last week. It was lots of fun despite the 100 degree temps.
