Psalm 127:3-5

Behold children are a gift of the LORD,
The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a mighty warrior, so are the children of one's youth.
How blessed are those whose quiver is full of them

Brothers

This picture shows a little window into Bens relationship with Rivers at this point. Rivers is just minding his own business and Ben comes up and just casually knees him in the side. Then he goes on like nothing ever happened.

Ben loves his brother and will come up and pat him or hug him but it is as if he wants to make sure Rivers still knows who is boss.... Or maybe who is bigger... Well sort of bigger... They get closer in size everyday.

We get the funniest questions from people about them.... They are clearly not twins but on the other hand they look like they are only a few months apart.... That doesn't compute?? One has dark skin and dark eyes, the other has pail skin and blue eyes. That doesn't make sense either??

Often times people think one of them is not ours and just another baby we are watching.

One thing is for sure though, people are not afraid to ask any and all questions whether or not they are a bit personal.... Ex: Did you plan that? OR...... Obviously he was a surprise, right?

Too funny!

8 months old

Our youngest son is 8 months old today... Can it be true? I am very sure time has never flown this fast, EVER. Rivers is a joyful, calm little thinker. He brings so much joy to this family!!

Here are a few tidbits on our mini man:

Crawling like everywhere
Puts everything in his mouth but esp. Paper and grass
LOVES watching his sisters and brother do just about anything
Laughs A LOT
Smiles A LOT
Still hasn't had a bottle or "real" food (at this point in life bottles are just too much work... And "real" food will come after cold and flu season is over)
Still a great little sleeper... Naps in his bed and cosleeping at night with mommy and daddy
Loves to sit by the toy box and play
Has been pulling up for over a month now but unfortunately he thinks he can stand by himself and does for a few seconds before he falls over and somehow always finds a way to nearly hit his head every time... Giving his mommy major scares.. :)
He loves to clap and pound his hands on anything
He gives his brother much grief when he grabs toys from him...although Ben firmly takes them back and bops him on the head as a reminder that he didn't like that little game.
He is already very tough and can handle himself pretty well when Ben tries to wrestle him... Which of course at this point I promptly break up.... There will be plenty of time for that one day when Rivs can actually walk!! :)

We really are so blessed to have such an incredible boy! What an amazing gift our Rivs is!

Happy 8 months!!

Afternoon fun

Ben - loves baseball gloves, bats, balls, batting helmets and golf clubs.... Hmmm, wonder where he gets this from?

Anna - loves to be outside and thinking up new games to play

Serene - loves life and puts on the cutest outfits.... Marches to her own drum that one!

Rivers - crawls faster than I can keep up, puts everything in his mouth and in particular loves to eat grass.... Oh and he smiles 24/7 and almost never cries.
